"Hurrah - the Circus is in Town"
...... and there it was... the Big Top and streams of families, mostly with littler children making their way to the Sunday Afternoon Matinee. The circus was one which has the WORST record in the whole of the UK for poor animal rights.
"Hurrah - the Circus is in Town" WTF!!!
Now I genuinely try to accomodate all views and be as accepting as I an of all lifestyles and celebrate the diversity of our nation...but I cannot and will never accept that this type of circus is acceptable.
This particular circus has been prosecuted in the UK for locking animals up all day and transporting them for too many hours in hot trailers across the country. I wanted to wind my window down as I drove past and ask parents what the heck they were doing taking little kids to see poor caged animals for fun.
I'm fine, of course with circuses that have trapeze, clowns and other skilled acts it's just the animal circuses I have a huge problem with. Surely to goodness the day has passed when society feels it's acceptable to make large animals like lions and tigers parade around for our 'entertainment'. I cannot comprehend how a pretty little town like mine in 'Middle England' ever agreed to this. I will be emailing town councillors and the Mayor on Monday and expressing my views, strongly!
I was Angry, ANGRY, ANGRY until I got to the gym. I had my 6 week review with Jay and we agreed I'm doing really well ( yipee!) and we agreed to mix it up a bit to keep it interesting and notch up the levels I'm working at. Jay said the difference is really visible now. She says she usually sees her gym people every 6 weeks but she's going to move my frequency to every 4 as I'm working so hard and doing so well....which is brilliant. I'm doing things differently so the workout felt all new and exciting again and I can't wait to go back tomorrow.
I worked all my anger out in the gym and pushed and stepped and peddled and let it all go. Going to the gym has its uses other than getting fit and losing weight, don't you agree!

I'm not a supporter of the circus or the zoo - I don't like it one bit.
Glad you are doing so well. Yeah Dawn.
Dawn you are talking to someone who likes some animals better than some people...LOL I agree, not a nice thing to do to our precious animals...Keep up the great work...Maria
I agree! The gym or the treadmill is a great place to let go of stress, anger, worry or any number of mentally exhausting feelings. I applaud you for your hard work and am so looking forward to seeing what the next couple of months will bring to your life. If you keep working this hard - you will be rewarded with amazing results!
I usually feel MUCH better if I take out my aggression at the gym. Hopefully you had an awesome workout - it sounds like you are doing GREAT!
Animals in cages just makes me cry... I couldn't agree with you more about this kind of circus. Good for you and your commitment and focus on health and fitness. When you can impress a trainer, that's really saying something! Way to go. You're off to a great new week of transformation.
That is a bummer. :(
I hate animal cruelty (hence...the vegetarianism). I don't like the circus either. I do think it's cruel. Zoos...enh...I'm a little more flexible with zoos (the bigger ones). Here in Philadelphia, we have a great zoo that treats the animals very well (even though they are caged) and they donate for/teach about conservation and such.
